The Motion Of Rain
For me one of the best times to shoot street is when it is raining, granted there needs to be no wind otherwise it becomes a bit tricky trying to hold onto your umbrella with one hand while you do your best to focus, compose and shoot with the other hand.
But once you master I find the photos to be more interesting with regards to subject and lighting. Also it seems that people tend to care far less about you taking their photo when it is pouring down with rain as they are so preoccupied with trying to stay dry.
A Touch of Color
This is about as painter like as I get. Fireworks display from 2012 in Grasse for La Fête du Jasmin. I'm interested to see what these look like printed in A3 or bigger.
Rooftop Fashion
I did a great shoot recently with a couple of fantastic models. They were amazing to work with a had nerves of steel to balance on that ledge 32 floors up. Well done girls.
Here is pic of the view as well as a couple of sample pics of the shoot.

The Female Black and White
The continued exploration of different bodies in black and white.
I have been really busy lately with shoots in studio. Here are a few shots of my ongoing Bodies Project exploring the human form.
The Cotton Club
If you are looking for a cool place to hang out with great music in Shanghai then get down to The Cotton Club. Dark, cramped and smokey, this place is a well known jazz bar in Shanghai. The house band is amazing and pumps out such an awesome vibe you can't help focusing all your attention on them so don't be surprised if the conversation at your table literally comes to an abrupt halt when they start.
Below are a few photos I shot on the first night I heard the band.

Welcome to my new blog
The Female Black and White.
For me black and white always holds so much more emotion and mood than colour. I know its a personal preference and many other photographers would disagree with me on this point but I guess that is one of the reasons photography is so subjective, each photo says something different to each viewer.
